President:
Drew Gunter
The President is expected to call to order and
preside over all meetings, announce business before the chapter,
preserve order and decorum, and act as a liaison between the membership
and the faculty of the Psychology and Counseling Departments. S/he
is to be a role model of enthusiasm, integrity, and fairness and
lead the board and membership in defining and pursuing the goals
and objectives of the chapter. S/he is responsible for delegating
duties to ensure that all board members are assigned to a task or
a place on some committee at all times, and is to confirm with the
faculty advisor and outgoing officers that accounts from the academic
year are cleared and that all required reports have been submitted
to the nation office.

Vice
President:
The Vice President is
ready assume the duties of the regularly elected President in his/her
absence. In the absence of a membership chair; s/he is to organize
nominations and elections, process applications, and plan induction
ceremonies cooperatively with the Activities Chair; s/he is also
to serve as Program Chair, organizing guest lectures, student advising
services, and other special services. S/he is to obtain facilities
for regular and special meetings, assure that adequate publicity
has been obtained for all events, and follow up on delegated
responsibilities and on order of the President.

Secretary: Ashley Cook
The Secretary is required to keep an accurate record of the proceedings
or minutes of each meeting and to distribute them to every member
of the board. S/he is to keep an active list of chapter activities
and responsibilities delegated to each officer and/or committee
during board meetings, reproduce membership applications and other
forms, and see that membership registration cards are properly filled
out and sent to the national office in a timely manner. S/he is
responsible for submitting news of chapter activities to the Associated
Students and the national office for publication in the Psi Chi
magazine "Eye on Psi Chi." S/he is to receive, organize,
and distribute all written materials from the national office, order
research and other certificates, chapter supplies, transfer membership,
and report the election of new officers and induction of new members
as they occur.
Bio: Ashley Cook is a senior her at Sonoma State and is he secretary of Psi Chi. She was raised in a small town called Discovery Bay on the California Delta. Ashley fills her time with work, studying, wakeboarding and snowboarding. She plans on attending graduate school next year to get her Masters in Counseling to become a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist.

Public
Relations:
The
Public Relations Officer is responsible for the promotion of Psi
Chi (both the chapter and nation organizations) to the Psychology
and Counseling Departments, campus
community, and the community at large. S/he is responsible for publicizing
all Psi Chi events, lectures, programs, and activities through the
Universities newspaper, "The Star," the Associated Students
Club Newsletter, "The Club Connection" campus banners,
fliers, faculty announcements, classroom and departmental meeting
presentations. S/he is to assist the Secretary in soliciting and
submitting newsworthy items about the chapter or individual members
to the national office for publication.

Fundraising Coordinator:
The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for planning all Psi
Chi activities, including but not limited to: graduate school preparation
activities, membership socials, philanthropic events, cooperative
events with other SSU campus clubs and organizations, as well as
other Psi Chi chapters, semi-annual membership induction and honors
ceremonies.

Treasurer:
The Treasurer is to pay out funds only on the order of the chapter.
S/he is required to present the chapter with bi-monthly and annual
reports showing the amount on hand, at the beginning of the year,
the amount collect during the year, and the amount expended during
the year. S/he is to obtain these monthly figures from Associated
Students. S/he is to prepare and present an annual Associated Student's
Budget Request, collect funds for memberships and regalia and request
a check made in enough time to ensure delivery before the induction

Membership Coordinator: Allison Buckley
The membership coordinator is in charge of accepting new members into the
club. Some duties include advertising and answering questions for new
members, collecting and going through applications to make sure all
requirements have been met, and sending the information to the national
office.
Bio: My name is Allison and I am senior at Sonoma State. I am graduating with
my B.A in Psychology in the Spring, and I plan on pursuing a career in
counseling. I joined this club to help attend grad school, to meet some
new friends, and to become more involved in school activities. I am
already having a lot of fun being on the board of Psi Chi, and I look
foward to inducting new members and participating in future events. |

Member at Large: Lynette Edwards
The member at large works with all officers to provide assistance where needed. If an officer is absent, s/he will temporarily fill that role.
Bio: My name is Lynette Edwards and I am the Member at Large for the
Psi Chi board this year. I am in my third year at SSU studying
Psychology. After I graduate I hope to go on to graduate school for a
counseling practitioner program to get my Marriage and Family Therapy
license. Other than Psi Chi I am involved with an internship working at a
private home with a 15 year old girl with autism. On the weekends I play
a lot of soccer and like to spend time with my family and friends. I'm
excited to be involved with Psi Chi this year! |

Bio: I'm a junior at Sonoma State majoring in Psychology and minoring in American Multicultural Studies. I plan to attend grad school in 2009 to pursue a PhD in Social Psychology with a research bent. I look forward to keeping those interested in Psi Chi up to date via the website and promoting Psi Chi in general.
