Dear SSU Catholic Students, First, we would like to introduce ourselves as the Catholic community of SSU and to invite you to participate in different activities throughout the school year. The mission of SSU Catholic Newman Center is to provide spiritual nourishment through Sunday Mass, weekly Bible reflections, and to create a social gathering place to build friendships and support for one another. We also have community outreach through canned food drives and preparing meals for the Petaluma Soup Kitchen. During the first semester, we have a fun filled day in sunny Napa at my parents’ house, getting to know each other, gambling for candy and eating A LOT! In the second semester we have an overnight retreat to help celebrate the Lenten spirit. At the Newman Center we have a day trip before Thanksgiving, and we join with other Newman Centers during the Easter Season. Other activities that the students have enjoyed throughout the school year are movies, poker and ice-skating. One of our future activities is to host a picnic with other religious denominations from SSU. We always continuously pray for the success of students' educations and future careers. Please remember that we are here for you and would love to help enrich your college experience in any way that we can! Peace and love in Christ. Ft. Chinh |
