I like being involved in the Biology Department. Tribeta is one way for
me to be informed on current issues within the department. It is a great
networking tool to find research opportunities at SSU.
Treasurer: Jim Castle
wldfbio@yahoo.com
As treasurer of Tribeta one has the responsibility of keeping track of
all the financial matters of the society. This includes such things as
all the deposits and checks, club fees and memberships, all grants and
donations the club applies for and receives as well as reporting to the
society members about any financial issues. The position is a great place
to start because it doesn't require as much effort as say the president,
but is a great opportunity to get involved and who knows you might move
up the ladder!
Secretary :Kelly Banker
kjbanker@hotmail.com
My job is to take the meeting minutes and send them to the club members.
Historian:
As graduate students are unable to hold traditional offices of president,
vice-president, secretary, or treasurer due to National By-Laws, the Omicron
Lambda chapter of TriBeta has created an office whose primary objective
to is to act as liason between the graduate and undergraduate community.
In addition, the Graduate Representative helps all other officers and
members in the club in planning and executing events and advertising.
I have greatly enjoyed being invovled in TriBeta, and was honored when
the office of Graduate Representative was created to offer me an future
graduate students a more invovled role in the organization. I have interacted
with wider a variety of biology students than I would otherwise have in
the classroom setting, and I have also developed wonderful friendships
that will continue long after graduation.
