Every year there are certain events that our chapter participates in along with many other Greek organizationss on campus. Sometimes these events promote our own philanthropies, but we often participate in events that help support the other Greek organizations on campus. There are many Greek organizations that make up Greek life at Sonoma State, and it is important for us to give them as much support as they give to us. Here are some examples of the activities we Alpha Gams enjoy taking part in.

Powder Puff Football

In November we participated in Gamma Phi Beta's 9th annual Powder Puff Tournament that benefited their philanthropy "Camping for Girls". Powder Puff is a football tournament that is held every fall, but this football game is played with a twist. Instead of traditional football with teams made of up boys, girls from different sororities make up the teams. Fraternities are pared with, and coach, the sororities for the big day. The also serve as our cheerleaders. This year we were paired with Tau Kappa Epsilon. We usually start practicing for this event a month or two before game day, where we learn how to execute plays. There is also a cheer competition that our "cheerleaders" get to compete in.

SAE Recess

On Saturday April 26th, Sigma Alpha Epsilon is hosting the second annual SAE Recess. This event brought us back to the elementary school yard, and the games we used to play there. We competed against the ladies of Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Delta Zeta, Alpha Xi Delta, and Alpha Delta Pi sororities. All proceeds from this event went to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The events that we participated in were:

1. Goldfish Races- contestants will push a live goldfish down a trough by blowing through straws, with the team who gets their fish into the bucket at the end first declared winner
2. Kickball
3. Water Balloon Toss
4. Dodgeball
5. Tug-of-War
6. Adrenaline Rush Obstacle Course- teams will race a set number of girls through the course, with winning team posting the fastest total time (see pictures for this thing as it's pretty awesome)

Lip Jam

A lip-syncing contest hosted by us, Alpha Gamma Delta. Each year we pick a different theme for this contest, for example, this year the theme is Rock Out to the 90's. Click here to learn more about Lip Jam.
