April 27, 2000 - The Sonoma State University lacrosse team retained its #1 USLIA ranking for the 7th straight week in the April 26th USLIA Top 25 Poll. In the April 7th WCLL Top 10 Poll, SSU is also ranked #1. The Cossacks will take their ranking into the WCLL Final Four this weekend where UC Santa Barbara, UC Berkeley, and the University of Arizona will also be competing for the league title. SSU defeated all three during the regular season but only by a combined 8 goals - not many by lacrosse standards. First up will be UCSB on Friday night. SSU escaped with a 9-7 victory the last time the two schools met. SSU's schedule includes five Top 10 teams and another two teams in the Top 25.
