March 16, 2000 - The Sonoma State University lacrosse team was ranked #1 in the nation by Wednesday's USLIA Top 25 Poll. Ranked #2 since pre-season, the Cossacks earned the #1 spot by beating several Top 10 opponents, including Arizona, BYU, Michigan, and former #1 Colorado State. The Cossacks will try to make the ranking last more than a couple of days when they on new #2 UC Berkeley this Friday night at Cal's Kleeberger Field. Game time is 7:00 pm.
