SSU Loses to Michigan 10 - 11 in Double Overtime

May 10, 2001 • St. Louis, MO - There is an unconfirmed report that Sonoma State lost to the University of Michigan 10-11 in double overtime.

Michigan senior attackman Kevin Chan (Manhassett H.S.; Manhasset, NY) scored the game-winning goal in the 2nd overtime to propel the Wolverines to a comeback victory over the Sonoma State Cossacks. Sonoma led much of the contest and the Cossacks held a 4 goal lead late in the 3rd quarter. Michigan bounced back in the 4th quarter to force overtime. Sonoma State controlled the ball for most of the 1st overtime period, forcing several unsuccessful shots on goal. Michigan controlled the ball in the 2nd overtime before Chan's shot scored at the 1:34 mark.

SSU will face Colorado tomorrow at 4:00 pm for 7th place honors.
